Bryngwyn Llamas
Llamas as fibre producers
Llamas have a double fleece; an outer guard hair and a fine, soft
undercoat. Llamas can be shorn every two years or so, but this is
not a necessity, alternatively the undercoat can be harvested by
grooming the individual llama. The fleece comes in many natural
colours from white to black with a wide range of browns and greys in
between. In Peru the finest llama fleece is simply classified as
alpaca.
